MP4 Compressor
MP4 is a container, not a quality setting. Your browser must decode its video and audio codecs. Use MP4 export when the format selector offers it; otherwise choose WebM and check destination compatibility.

Up to 100 MB · 5 minutes · 4K inputLocal processing · No video upload
Fits the longest edge; portrait videos keep their shape. No enlargement.
Only formats supported by your browser are available. Check your destination accepts the chosen format.
Up to 30 fps output. Subtitles, extra audio tracks, HDR and metadata are not preserved. Bitrate adapts to your original file. A download is offered only when the output is smaller; already optimized clips may not shrink further.
How to compress a MP4 video
- Select a playable clip under 100 MB, five minutes and 4K.
- Choose a maximum resolution and quality preset. The preset requests a bitrate; this tool has no custom bitrate field. Lower resolution reduces picture detail.
- Keep the tab visible while the clip is re-encoded, then preview picture and sound before downloading.
If the receiving service requires MP4
Check the Output format selector before processing. Select MP4 only if offered. If only WebM is available, this browser cannot complete an MP4-only delivery workflow here. A smaller WebM still fails an MP4 requirement; use a compatible encoder or another browser and check its available formats.
Check more than the extension
After export, play the beginning, a section with movement and the final seconds. Listen to any speech you need to retain. The tool re-encodes up to 30 fps and does not preserve HDR, embedded subtitles or extra audio tracks. Keep the original when those features matter.
Will my files be uploaded?
No. The video is processed locally. Website requests and analytics are separate from media processing.
Can I reduce MP4 file size without uploading it?
Yes, for clips your browser can decode within the 100 MB, five-minute and 4K input limits. Encoding runs on your device. MP4 export must also be supported by your browser; a WebM export is not an MP4 conversion.
Why did my video not get smaller?
An already efficient source may not shrink further. The tool only offers a compressed download when it is smaller than the original. Try Smallest file, a lower resolution or removing unnecessary audio.
