WebM Compressor
WebM is useful for browser playback but is not accepted by every messaging app. This tool offers available browser encoders. Inspect motion, fine text and audio after lowering bitrate, and keep a compatible original.

Fits the longest edge; portrait videos keep their shape. No enlargement.
Only formats supported by your browser are available. Check your destination accepts the chosen format.
Up to 30 fps output. Subtitles, extra audio tracks, HDR and metadata are not preserved. Bitrate adapts to your original file. A download is offered only when the output is smaller; already optimized clips may not shrink further.
How to compress a WebM video
- Select a playable clip under 100 MB, five minutes and 4K.
- Choose a maximum resolution and quality preset. The preset requests a bitrate; this tool has no custom bitrate field. Lower resolution reduces picture detail.
- Keep the tab visible while the clip is re-encoded, then preview picture and sound before downloading.
How do I compress a WebM screen recording?
Choose a playable recording within the tool limits and begin with Balanced. Keep enough resolution for menus, code and small text to remain legible. Try Smallest file only if the result still needs to shrink. Remove audio only when narration is unnecessary, then preview the exported recording before sharing.
A reading test for screen recordings
Before export, identify an error code, a small menu label and a line that changes during the clip. After export, pause at the same moments and read all three. If resizing makes them ambiguous, retry at a higher resolution from the original. A smaller file with unreadable instructions is not a useful support recording.
Prepare a web preview deliberately
For a silent preview, remove audio only when it carries no information. For a narrated tutorial, keep sound and check the beginning and end for missing speech. This tool does not create captions or preserve embedded subtitle tracks. Confirm that the website or messaging app accepts WebM before choosing it as the delivery copy.
Will my files be uploaded?
No. The video is processed locally. Website requests and analytics are separate from media processing.
Why did my video not get smaller?
An already efficient source may not shrink further. The tool adjusts bitrate to the source and only offers a compressed download if it is smaller. Otherwise, keep your original or try Smallest file, lower resolution, or Remove audio.
