Free Online Image Resizer

Resize images for email, product listings or upload forms. Set a maximum width in pixels and keep the original proportions. This tool reduces dimensions; it does not crop or enlarge your image.

01 YOUR IMAGELOCAL PROCESSING

Make room for a smaller image.

Drag your image here, or choose one or more files.

JPG · PNG · WebP · AVIF · HEIC/HEIF · GIF · SVG · PDF — up to 20 MB
Your images stay on your device. No file uploads.

How to use this workflow

  1. Open the original and enter the width your destination requires. A portrait image keeps its portrait proportions.
  2. Leave the byte target at No limit when dimensions are your only constraint. Choose the output format separately.
  3. Resize, inspect the reported width and height, and download. A source narrower than your chosen maximum stays at its original width.

What to check before saving

A 2400 × 1600 image capped at 1200 pixels becomes 1200 × 800. This is a dimensions example, not a prediction of file size. For a square slot, crop in an editor first.

Inputs are limited to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC/HEIF, GIF, SVG and selected PDF pages are supported. Exports are JPG, PNG, WebP or browser-supported AVIF; animation and source metadata are not retained.

Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. Normal website requests still reach the hosting service. Read the privacy policy.

Questions & answers

Can I set an exact height?

The control caps width and calculates height from the aspect ratio. Exact height, cropping and stretching are not offered.

Does resizing change file quality?

Reducing dimensions discards pixels. JPG and WebP are also encoded at the selected quality, so keep your full-size master.

Understand the settings

Diagnose your exported file

Match the symptom to the next action. These checks describe this tool’s current implementation; they are not a guarantee that another website will accept the result.

The result is not the exact height required.

Maximum width preserves the original aspect ratio. It does not crop or stretch the image to a fixed box.

Next action: For an illustrative 2400 × 1600 source, a width of 1200 gives 1200 × 800. If the destination requires 1200 × 1200, crop to a square in an editor first, then resize.

A small source did not become larger.

This tool caps dimensions and does not upscale. Increasing the maximum width cannot create more source pixels.

Next action: Use a larger original if the destination requires one. Do not treat a larger file size or higher quality setting as proof of higher resolution.

If the result still fails, report the exact error and your browser. Include the settings and output dimensions, but do not send private images or identity documents.
