WebP Compressor — Reduce WebP Size Online
Use WebP output for destinations that accept it. Adjust visual quality and pixel dimensions together instead of assuming a format always produces a smaller file.
Make room for a smaller image.

JPG · PNG · WebP · AVIF · HEIC/HEIF · GIF · SVG · PDF — up to 20 MBHow to use this workflow
- Choose an image and confirm that your website, app or form accepts WebP.
- Start at 80% quality; reduce width only when the displayed image does not need the full resolution.
- Download and inspect the exported file in its destination. Keep a JPG or PNG alternative if compatibility requires it.
What to check before saving
Animated WebP is flattened to a still image. This interface does not provide a dedicated lossless WebP mode, and browser encoder output can vary.
Inputs are limited to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC/HEIF, GIF, SVG and selected PDF pages are supported. Exports are JPG, PNG, WebP or browser-supported AVIF; animation and source metadata are not retained.
Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. Normal website requests still reach the hosting service. Read the privacy policy.
Questions & answers
How can I compress WebP to 100KB?
Select one image, keep WebP as the output and choose the 100 KB target. Keep the maximum width suitable for its final display. Allow extra resizing only if smaller dimensions are acceptable. Check the reported bytes and inspect transparent edges and text. The target means 100,000 bytes or less, but not every image can meet it at usable quality.
Can I compress a transparent WebP logo without uploading it?
Yes. Choose WebP output and preview transparent edges at the intended display size. Lower quality can change fine detail; compare the actual file size and keep the original if it is better. Animated images become a still image.
Will WebP always beat JPG?
No. The subject, dimensions, encoder and quality setting determine the output. Compare actual exports rather than relying on the extension.
Does WebP keep a transparent background?
The browser export can preserve transparency. Inspect edges after compression and verify your destination displays them correctly.

Diagnose your exported file
Match the symptom to the next action. These checks describe this tool’s current implementation; they are not a guarantee that another website will accept the result.
The exported WebP is rejected by an upload form.
Being able to view WebP in your browser does not mean the destination accepts it.
Next action: Check the destination’s accepted formats. Export JPG for an opaque photo, or PNG when transparency is required. Change the actual export format, not just the filename extension.
An animated image stopped moving.
This image workflow exports a still frame rather than preserving an animation timeline.
Next action: Keep the animated original. Use an animation-aware editor if you need to preserve frame timing; lowering the quality setting here cannot bring the animation back.
If the result still fails, report the exact error and your browser. Include the settings and output dimensions, but do not send private images or identity documents.
