PNG Compressor — Reduce PNG Size Online
Keep transparent pixels with PNG output. To make a PNG smaller here, adjust dimensions or compare a different format that your destination accepts.

JPG · PNG · WebP · AVIF · HEIC/HEIF · GIF · SVG · PDF — up to 20 MBHow to use this workflow
- Open your PNG and check whether transparency or sharp text must be retained.
- Lower maximum width if the original has more pixels than needed. The quality control is disabled because PNG encoding ignores it.
- Inspect small text and edges before downloading. A re-encoded PNG can be larger, especially when the original was already optimized.
What to check before saving
This is a PNG resizing and encoding workflow, not a palette quantizer or specialist lossless optimizer. It cannot promise a smaller PNG at unchanged dimensions.
Inputs are limited to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC/HEIF, GIF, SVG and selected PDF pages are supported. Exports are JPG, PNG, WebP or browser-supported AVIF; animation and source metadata are not retained.

Questions & answers
Why does the quality slider not work for PNG?
The browser PNG encoder does not use this quality setting. Pixel dimensions are the relevant reduction control in this tool.
How can I keep transparency with a smaller file?
Try a smaller width or compare WebP output if your destination accepts it. Check the result against the intended background.

Diagnose your exported file
Match the symptom to the next action. These checks describe this tool’s current implementation; they are not a guarantee that another website will accept the result.
The PNG grew after processing.
The browser re-encodes pixels; it does not run a specialist palette optimizer. A source that was already optimized can be smaller.
Next action: Keep the original when it has the required dimensions. If a smaller width is acceptable, try it once from the original. Compare WebP only when the destination accepts that format.
The target is missed with resizing disabled.
The PNG encoder ignores the quality slider, so this workflow cannot reduce quality to reach a byte target.
Next action: Decide whether you can reduce dimensions or change format. If neither is allowed, use a dedicated lossless PNG optimizer instead of repeatedly processing the same file here.
If the result still fails, report the exact error and your browser. Include the settings and output dimensions, but do not send private images or identity documents.
